Short answer: you’re basically right, today there’s no real “autosave / persistent chat like ChatGPT” experience. Since you’re doing deep technical work, here are realistic strategies: Best workflow for long technical threads or even better treat Copilot chats like design artifacts: Same level as ADRs or RFC notes. |

Is there a way to autosave chats in Copilot? There have been a couple of occassions when i really get into it with one of the chat LLMs digging into code and project details and then if i come back to it after a couple of days, the chat is no longer responsive and the only solution is to restart the chat with it saying "how may I help you?". If there were a way to autosave it similar to how it works in the web interface to any of the chat agents, that would be great My understanding from asking copilot about this is that its not currently available and all there is Chat: Export Session, which is somehat after the fact
